The reactions to the Trump speech made it abundantly clear:

Politicians get Bitcoin more than Bitcoiners get politics.

…and soon politicians will have bought more Bitcoin than Bitcoiners bought politicians, too.
Politicians don’t get Bitcoin, they just think it could now be another way for them to make fiat.
I think you’re referring to most “bitcoiners” in “the space”

Politicians want power more than fiat imo. From that angle they’re prone to get bitcoin much better than typical fiat economically driven people.
Politicians en masse don't care about power; with a few exceptions, they're actors who care primarily about celebrity.

I will say though...I do think a lot of "low time preference" bitcoiners will be in for a shock when they realize just how unbelievably patient the actual generational power brokers of our era really are.
Yes narcissism is especially strong in this subset of society but it’s just enriching my original argument. Fiat is not the primary motive for most of the.

Your last point resonates strongly with me. Anyone thinking “low time preference” means anything less than beyond your own lifetime will have a hard time
In the distant possibility that a politician does in fact understand Bitcoin, they don’t want what it proposes.
Agreed. They couldn’t possibly want that
 Much reflection required
Absolutely. I understand the sentiment towards politics and politicians but deducting from this feeling that politicians are stupid is … well it’s a mistake
I've said and cheered fuck the state a hundred times but the learning curve doesn't stop
 Rabbit holes everywhere always
Did you watch Lummis and Scott?

Truly embarrassing...

Maybe they're smarter than first blush, but they really came across as a couple of babbling, giggling empty suits...trying to say what they thought people wanted to hear.

Contrast with Snowden--who (without any audience interaction) was thoughtful, bright, insightful and compelling.

Lummis and Scott were a clown show....
Only saw snippets. Well a big part of the political job in democracies is building rapport by creating the impression of similarity in order to get support.

I don’t know about the absolute state of American society but maybe they did well from that point of view 😅
Perhaps...but for me they came across as disingenuous and phony...

(Really wanted to like Lummis...was quite disappointed)
 I can understand this
