Spent 10 days off-grid on Hardscrabble Mountain in Colorado. There were four of us in our group. My brother filled his bear tag. Another guy had an elk tag, but we never could get within range of a legal buck. I went as the designated camp cook and bushcraft/survival specialist. https://i.nostrimg.com/c9e4030e1fe2a12d7f7db7f385c4bd7f2eee8bc7c0c675177c4d582279ed35ae/file.jpg https://i.nostrimg.com/f37dbf437d2f201a376fc72d176178a2dfeaa5e7ae15d856354f760720f40140/file.jpg On day 2, the mountain dumped 12 to 18 inches of snow on us and temperatures dropped to single digits. It became a great opportunity to test our skills, gear, and fortitude. https://i.nostrimg.com/ea1a634885580789eb7204a980ddcdabefa258b5283226d6b5f4497103fa157c/file.jpg https://i.nostrimg.com/4edd8f88aca8bdfd6e48e9fae931973d0f8506f1573baf02dbb28fb0fd5ec089/file.jpg https://i.nostrimg.com/cc443eab6a53718769775e9e2acd09e43dfae65cf2045444ba269fd66576780c/file.jpg #grownostr #proofofwork #hunting #edcstr #outdoorgear #getoutside
first tracks!! 🙏
Yeah, we were the first to walk that part of the mountain after the snow.
Nice. What backpack you using there?
It's made by Frost River. I don't think they make that particular model any more, but they have many similar packs and other canvas products.
Is that a young bear cub?
Conservation agent guessed it to be 2-3 years old, female, not quite to breeding age. Bears over 1 year are legal to harvest. She was hiding out in the brush on the very edge of public land within a half mile of a housing development and a golf course. Lots of potential to become a nuisance animal if she hadn't already.
The people on nostr are so awesome.
If you don't already, you really should be following Jordan. #grownostr #plebchain nostr:nevent1qqsxhyffcd63jpr39m5al2hj6rglcz654flwqeu97lffl5ep73zyhngpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhsygrewagqg8gnv65q630pxryrruzk9d0hyenx9vr6em6sm42ph739x5psgqqqqqqspje20l
