Seems like it's the path of least resistance out of this hole. 

 I mean "off chain" as in you put a tx onto one of these services, and when a bunch are gathered a cheaper transaction is constructed, and that defeats their spam atack.

It will also be a spectacular backfire if intels are behind the Ordinal cultists.
