I've just tried out www.ivpn.net ... paid with LN, chose my location and time frame and checkout was btcpay. Got a wireguard config and immediately works.

(Well done mullvad for losing another customer because you can't be bothered to offer LN!)

#vpn #lightning
I used lnvpn recently. Very similar experience, very cool. Can even rent it for just an hour!
Been using lnvpn frequently for about 1,5 years now. Love it
lnvpn failed for me when i tried it this morning.

 I used the onion site
http://soveng42aj6ynynkqeyut2dwnmwou45epfpuwvjy2t45fpxn3dk2ymad.onion/ and worked fine 👌

It sucks that Mullvad doesn't have official LN support but luckily this site works great!
cc @Mullvad VPN feature request it seems...
@Mullvad VPN disregarded customers asking to pay mullvad feedback 🤷‍♂️

https://github.com/mullvad/mullvadvpn-app/issues/4435
 From the issue:

> Supporting Lightning as a payment option is in the backlog for the team managing payment methods. But I can't give any ETA for when that might be available.

They then point out it's the wrong repo to ask this.

> For all non-app related questions and feature requests, please contact support@mullvad.net.

Sounds like cajoling support is the only way :-)

From a privacy point of view, in a world infested with chain anal companies, not supporting lightning is problematic.
Yup. Never heard back from the payments team. Will bug them again.
@provoost if you’d like to show support for LN on @Mullvad VPN today I found out their new email is

support@mullvadvpn.net
I laud the constructiveness, but it's often better to just vote with your feet, if people show they're not interested in offering the service you want.

(It's a bit of a side issue, but also, vpns are a bit of a strange case where network effects are negative beyond a certain (low) threshold; mullvad got a bit too popular for me to really be motivated to use them any more.)

I'm only an occasional user of vpns anyway so definitely a ymmv situation.
Yes. And the beauty of submitting this feedback in the open is that the hungry VPN cos will see the feedback.

This is true for nostr projects as well.
that sounds fantastic, considering switching as well
which reminds me, i recently discovered https://bitcoin-vps.com/ which maintains a huge list of bitcoin-accepting VPS hosters, and they list which ones take lightning and have self-hosted payment processing (so no bitpay or coinbase KYC nonsense), very useful
