Weed users of Nostr: How addictive is this stuff? Saw another young person today throw away a 100k starting salary on a failed drug test. It was pre-employment and not a surprise. Blackballed from a huge chunk of the oil and gas industry for life now. WTF? I don't get it. Never used it, so no frame of reference.
Itβs not. Some people just like to enhance the taste of Doritos
This has to be some buried psychological thing if the weed isn't addictive. Like they knew they wouldn't be fulfilled in the job and did some self-sabotage thing. They're never retards. I think they're tapped in to some higher level shit I can't understand.
Fuck that narc ass industry then.
100k buys a lot of weed though. Like at least pass pre-employment, right? Dude should've just said what you said and not got on a list.
I work in the oilfield and could never figure this out. Saw so many lose amazing opportunities due to weed. I used to smoke the odd joint but a couple months before starting in oilfield, I simply stopped. It seemed like the most simple decision
SO MANY get fired or not hired. Crazy.
Crazy thing for me was totally stopping, doing training and taking that seriously. First job and i end up being told by my boss to smoke a joint! Very first job was in the middle of the jungle in Gabon in Afruca and we went to see the local tribal chief in the rondavel in the lical village and he passed one round. Boss just told me later that he would cover any issues arising!
π What happens in the jungle...
Its not worth a job, I do enjoy it and it has made me calmer, but go 100k I don't need the devils lettuce
150k+ easy with overtime. 22 years old. That's life-path-altering money on the line.
I would say that at that age i was still following what others thought i should do, maybe it was an easy out for a bad choice made earlier.
Not heroin addictive, more like sugar addictive.
Okay that shit I understand. I mean that's pretty tough to go cold turkey.
I'll share my experience. Assimilate what you make of it. TL;DR: Cannabis can be a powerful natural tool for introspection and personal growth, but it can also be a pernicious substance if used chronically. In my ongoing ambivalent experience, after using it on and off for a decade, I've found that it can provide profound insights and self-awareness. However, I believe that modern times have transformed this sacred plant into a recreational substance, diluting its spiritual connotations. I recommend using cannabis primarily as a tool for self-reflections, with a focus on connecting with a divine or spiritual dimension. Try to avoid using cannabis as a crutch for an easy form of escapism; in other words, that is, resorting to it as a primary means of coping with stress or other challenges isn't the way to go. So, to sort of summarize: When used with respect and in a way that acknowledges its medicinal benefits and potent spiritual properties, I believe cannabis can be an incredible aid for personal growth. However, the sword cuts both ways, and can (not always) inhibit your growth by developing a sense of psychological dependency. Overall it's a radical god given plant that demands respect. Use it wisely!
Well said. I'm going to pass this to the young bucks I meet along the way.
Doing your own grow farms probably earns mor
I've used it to manage pain though I'm not currently using it as I have a prescription from my surgeon that works ok. The "introspection" aspect of it doesn't do me any good as it just recalls all my feelings from the past. That doesn't do me any good at my age. I'd recommend it for someone under vast amounts of anxiety and stress caused by external factors but not to someone prone to depression. In the end .. its just an amplifier. You gotta think about it a bit if you want to get amplified. I'll use it again if I feel that I need to get back to my true self as opposed to getting pulled away by present circumstances.
Y'all are all providing some damn good insight on this.
I can't get past the smell myself. I work in telecom though, get in a lot of houses and the ones that smell like weed are pigstys 90%+ of the time. Quit introspecting and clean your bloody room.
