The first day we didn't put the cage up - big mistake they got everywhere, got stuck or hid for a bit! Much happier in there and safer from seagulls or crows πŸ’œ Great little trainee lawn mowers though they grazed for hours and they are quick too πŸ«‚

It’s amazing to see that a lot of animals/pets really love to have some type of boundary. I would take the top of the cage roof off for my budgies and they wouldn’t fly out they just loved to sit at the top. πŸ«‚πŸ’œ
They did like their few hours of freedom but keeping track of them all is challenging! Plus we have the danger of footballs coming over the fence - don't want injured torties.
Our budgie did the same, open the door and would just sit at the top without flying round the room, maybe he could sense the cat or felt more comfortable close to safety
