I was meeting someone at a coffee shop once. He was running late and I was thirsty, so I got a drink. He called me out for buying my own and said he thought that signaled I wasn’t that interested.
I keep thinking about stuff like this and wanting to go thank my current partner.

It was one a few weird things that signaled it was just not meant to be. Do find it weird that someone would comment and find it offensive that I ordered a drink when he was over 20 minutes late.
He should have been happy you hadn't already left. 🤣
He complains that you're not showing enough interest? And this after he was late? You might get the idea that HE lacked interest! To be honest, I find it hard to deal with tardiness 🤭 I probably would have left with my takeaway coffee by now
