I know they are two separate ways because thay are different clients. Ios requires users to go thru friction to use features that are so smooth with Android. Nostur requires users to go and select a specific reaction emoji that is a hidden feature, damus is a script, primal is kyc. 

Amber is a unique app that works with any nip46 compatible nostr client. It is separate but interop. It is the answer to your very first question as to how to use other clients in a safe way.
