Is this a client that should be used with the main npub? Would it cause a problem if I’m using the same npub in Damus and 0xchat or better to use a new npub for this?
I set mine up with a separate key pair because I didn’t want to risk my main key, and also because I don’t want just anyone being able to start a chat 😂

Anyone can dm you right now. Ox just presents your dms and groups in a unique way. I use Amethyst, so dms always pop up in feed and so do group chat messages.

There isn't anything like Amethyst, running a private relay on your phone with your keys secured on the device not in any other client with total signing control. It is so feature rich.
Have you tried Nostur? It literally has all the features. And will is working on a relay inside Damus, nostrdb
Yes nostur is great but it is like the little step brother of Amethyst. These tools exist in a robust form. I don't understand the hesitancy to use the better tools.

It is good, it is what I would use on ios, but it still restricts my freedom to use all the tools. I mean you have to do all kinds of silliness just to zap on ios.

I know they are two separate ways because thay are different clients. Ios requires users to go thru friction to use features that are so smooth with Android. Nostur requires users to go and select a specific reaction emoji that is a hidden feature, damus is a script, primal is kyc. Amber is a unique app that works with any nip46 compatible nostr client. It is separate but interop. It is the answer to your very first question as to how to use other clients in a safe way. if you don't want to use it and don't want to have a better nostr experience where you are limited by apple then so be it.

My point had been the same all along. There is an easy to use solution to your concern about using your nsec in other clients. I don’t know lol I’m not logged into any other client with that nsec. But yea if they have your npub they can send you a message. I guess you can block them, so it’s a little like Telegram that way. Idk, I just wanted separate npubs for this.
So far I only trust Damus, Nostur and Freerse with my nsec. I’ll use it with a new npub for now

The whole “you haven’t fully experienced nostr if you’re not on this client” argument doesn’t make sense to me. If the super feature of nostr is the portability of your keys, then there shouldn’t be a “special” nostr client. The special client is whichever the user decides to use

It is nostr interop. I notice it will rec config your relays, so make them the same across the clients you use. You could have multiple npubs for different reasons but non outright need to isolate just to use it.
