Apple's business is gatekeeping and walled gardens. Yes, they develop some excellent technology in order to achieve those goals, no disagreement there.
But if you want a different end state than closed gates and corporate bubbles, you might want to encourage "random developers".
You can’t gatekeep something that is freely available on another operating system. The problem is, people want to have their cake and eat it too.

They want the benefits of iOS AND Android. And while there may be nothing inherently wrong with that idea, it’s not a very practical request.

There are features that make Android better in some respects and there are features that make iOS better in some respects.

If you want security and optimization, choose iOS.

If you want freedom of choice above all else, choose Android.

I find it absolutely disgusting that the EU would use legislature to tamp down another company’s success simply because none of their tech companies can match it.
It’s also worth mentioning that this has been Apple’s MO since day one and people continued to buy their products.

If you don’t like how a company operates, then you should probably stop buying their products, LMAO. Other wise, nothing will ever change.
 I have stopped, yes.
