Today for the first time in zap.store , a developer has published their own app 🤩 That is ngit by nostr:nprofile1qqs2qzx779ted7af5rt04vzw3l2hpzfgtk0a2pw6t2plaz4d2734vngpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68ytnzv9hxgtcppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnyv9kh2uewd9hj7hycrvd (a CLI package) We'll be reaching out to more CLI and Android devs to follow suit! https://image.nostr.build/4f83d806d4845def6d0eff8e0c4006fa439cd92e929826a58eb057cd82e7e7b3.png
Great work! I know how much work goes into tools that appear simple to the those who use them. May I be the first of a great many.
Zapstore is a package manager for the CLI too? If so, fantastic. I'll write integration for it.
Yes!
Very good work. Was looking at the code, DART is very similar to Java and C++. I also see you are adding support to modern CPUs (Arm, etc) and OS. This will come handy to run from small computers.
Yes, absolutely. Binaries are relatively small too (around 8MB vs 60+ MB I was getting with JS runtimes)
Yeah, react native is hard to get under 60MB, but it's just so much faster to work with...
I am very productive with Dart, and find Typescript annoying. So I guess it depends.
And you are writing in Flutter? That's sort of half way between classic Kotlin and RN
WE ARE WINNING
ACHIVEMENT UNLOCKED. This is a fantastic milestone, heading towards a future where we control not our attention and our social data, but the application stores behind them too. nostr:note12d3qu3zy8747lhhz3uhty38td9ex8vpyeqqqdvvehg8tkklraa8szmy8zn

and the clown show continues. 🤦🏻♂️
What does this mean?
I find watching developers who think they know better than Apple, to be humorous, like a clown show.
Nobody could possibly know better than your corporate nanny overlords
It’s their business and they have been doing it a lot longer. So, yeah, I’ll trust them before some random developer. 🤣
Apple's business is gatekeeping and walled gardens. Yes, they develop some excellent technology in order to achieve those goals, no disagreement there. But if you want a different end state than closed gates and corporate bubbles, you might want to encourage "random developers".
You can’t gatekeep something that is freely available on another operating system. The problem is, people want to have their cake and eat it too. They want the benefits of iOS AND Android. And while there may be nothing inherently wrong with that idea, it’s not a very practical request. There are features that make Android better in some respects and there are features that make iOS better in some respects. If you want security and optimization, choose iOS. If you want freedom of choice above all else, choose Android. I find it absolutely disgusting that the EU would use legislature to tamp down another company’s success simply because none of their tech companies can match it.
It’s also worth mentioning that this has been Apple’s MO since day one and people continued to buy their products. If you don’t like how a company operates, then you should probably stop buying their products, LMAO. Other wise, nothing will ever change.
I have stopped, yes.
We are witnessing the history being created 🤞🏼🧡 nostr:note12d3qu3zy8747lhhz3uhty38td9ex8vpyeqqqdvvehg8tkklraa8szmy8zn
Is there a way to "Explore All"? I'd love to just browse the entire list of apps. Right now I only see Discover Apps and latest releases. But would be great to "see all". Just want to explore what apps arenout there that I don't know of yet
I’m preparing my SatsPrice app for distribution for the first time soon. It’s on iOS and Android. I’ll be looking to release on all popular distribution channels (Play Store, F-Droid, GitHub) and on zap.store. Looking forward to exploring the release process!
