I think Nostr will easily triple its user base once someone taps into the sports betting industry. Sports betting markets are worth over 13 billion dollars and it’s full of KYC laws and fiat bullshit. It’s all permissioned and monitored by the government parasites. Permissionless sports betting integrated into nostr with payouts in sats is going to change everything for the normies! Some anon dev should get on this #grownostr
Its technically doable, even with blind match making with tor and relays, but I wouldnt touch it while within arms reach of the US
Costa Rica looks like the place to create this
Good point. The profits would be worth it for anyone living outside of the US.
I could work for this project, seriously it would be amazing, i already use a couple sites that accept LN and only need a disposable email to register, but imagine one having Nostr login 🤯

Enforce social community, trolling opposition is part of the game 😂

Prediction market you could share with the community

Fantasy games get a lot of attention, a new platform can easily benefit from the network

And as you said at this point is guaranteed revenue

You can even have slots if folks really want to give you there sats so easily 😂😂😂

I would love to see draft kings and the other betting websites lose their cash cow.
I have been thinking about this for awhile, made a note about it back in march. Using NOSTR for a web of trust for finding a betting partner who always pays their bets when they lose would be perfect. NOSTR's openness would be great for keeping people accountable.

It has to be trustless or it won’t work. It shouldn’t be that hard. You just integrate the program with the stats of the sport. You’d put up the sats for the bet and they go into escrow and then get released after the stats meet the necessary criteria (e.g. sports team wins/loses). I think the legal ramifications are why no one has made it yet.
 That is a great idea,
maybe start in a country less kyc happy and bring it to the US later
