A collector has uploaded nearly every "Chick Tract" from Chick Publications into one easy to read and browse item. https://archive.org/details/all-chick-tracts If you've never heard of these, they're absolutely often-vile religious conversion pamphlets with weirdly comforting comic-book artwork accompanying the apocalyptic and guilt-throwing message. If you HAVE heard of these (or found them in a phone booth, bus stop or bathroom)... here they all are. @82876015 Delightful! Glad people have a way to browse these...without in any way supporting the source I just did a little stream laughing at a bunch of these a bit ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=os3ogU7HzF4
@82876015 Dark Dungeons is the best (and by best, I mean most hilariously stupid). https://cdn.pawb.social/mastodon-pawb/media_attachments/files/111/156/559/898/139/439/original/28def88b7ce21ab8.png https://cdn.pawb.social/mastodon-pawb/media_attachments/files/111/156/560/177/922/658/original/28fbdbd42215c82b.png
@82876015 I have encountered two IRL and was shocked to learn on Wikipedia that the man did hundreds (I don't think he had a foundation then, or if he did it was subordinate to him as he was still alive) I worried that no one would ever find them all, randomly scattered places as they were, and the absurdity and cruelty would be lost I'm glad someone did
@82876015 I was collecting them, too, then tossed them in the recycle bin when moving to a new city. Wish I hadn't.
@82876015 You need to check out the issue of The Imp zine the deep dove into these. PDF here https://comicsforum.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/the-imp-2.pdf
