 They be like,

Oh, you have a cool idea?
Please complete the Cool Idea Approval Process, run by our Cool Idea Judging Council.
Of course, there are already 200 people waiting for approval, so please take a Cool Idea Request Number and wait for your Cool Idea Review.
That is, unless you are a Pre-approved Cool Idea Requester, as they have a fast-track approval process.
The goal, of course, is to get on the Cool Idea Judging Council, so that you can always approve your own requests and those of your bros. LOL

Nepotism and bureaucracy, but make it Nostr.
But, Stella, does your cool idea have the appropriate stempel? 🧐

🕹️
Obviously I prefer the anarchistic approach, but I will advocate: build it, show it off, prove you have a good idea such that you get some adoption. Sometimes you can have a bad idea and you need to know as soon as possible, and what's a better way to find out than by building it. No such thing as gatekeepers in an open protocol.
I think there are plenty of ideas or people that disagree with the repo council, but don't fucking do anything about it. They whine about how good their idea is and that the council is just a bunch of idiots, but don't bother proving them wrong and fighting for it regularly.
 My balls are bigger.
Sad.
I gave up on the NIP PR process and now just make up and kinds as I see fit. Anyone can implement the same spec. So far its working.
Yeah, just do your thing. Better to ask for forgiveness than permission.
As long as those kinds are well-documented so others can use them, I see no problem with that.

The thing that is currently lacking, though, is an organization tool by which everyone can find and track disparate specs created by various Nostr developers. Wikistr and Wikifreedia are good attempts in that direction.

@liminal @Laeserin this is what Alexandria can help solve.
 Precisely!
Right now, the best place for permissionless specs is wikifreedia
