10,000 percent agreed. Marketing wouldn’t look the same here because it’s decentralized and free. We still can implement elements of what has made other companies or services successful/well-known and apply them to our projects without adopting the immoral and centralized natures. The difference is the why. It’s not sharing the project because of expected reimbursement or notoriety. It’s getting the word out, that there are other options out there that solve a lot of bigger problems.
I think you read that more cynical than I meant it 😅 I definitely didn't want to imply that you do what you do for the zaps 😬 but yup, I guess the traditional start-up would have to be very creative to meet their (shareholder) goals on nostr. I'm not sure if that's an "we are early" or "it can't be done" thing though. It works to some extent for email, but there it's usually ad-driven or just really good service people want to pay for
Oops no I communicated it wrong. That’s why I do wayyyyy better with videos. I meant the clients and nostr projects, not me personally. Like when the devs make a note about their new updates and a bunch of us renote it, that’s a form of marketing to me. We want to share things that are useful and solve problems, not because there’s some type of financial or data harvesting incentives. Whereas the marketing for Google/Facebook have much more nefarious intentions besides “wanting to share something that could be useful or solve a problem”
Don't worry, I'm a basement dweller and probably didn't get it right either. 😄 Thanks for getting back, now I got your point. And it's a good one 💜 I personally like this form of marketing a lot more
