 Twitter is basically a news feed for me now. I have several subject-specific lists that are very useful for me, but the ‘For You’ feed is completely toxic, which I try to avoid. 

 Why not an rss feed from twitter? 

 Sure. I haven’t figured that out yet. 

 Yes a major reason I just use nostr is that x is just so manic, as you say..

..but I feel that might just the natural result of having millions of humans able to argue and be shits to each other - and that when nostr succeeds it will be the same

I guess the hope is we can have our own algos that actively promote peaceful engagement.

The algo is going to determine your reality.  We really are at the start of something big here..

 Once you fully get into Nostr, Twitter seems controlled and artificial. You also notice that most people are ANGRY on it, which is unpleasant.

I have to use it for certain purposes, but it's not the "free speech platform" it's marketed to be.

 I just use nitter.poast.org to lurk and get news from Xitter. 

 Thanks, I still can't access twitter. While the ban has actually been good for my mental health. There are a few accounts I genuinely miss. Now I can check them out periodically.

Use tor is better and more anonymous. 

 Just repost your nostr posts and never check the responses.  

 First step is to delete app from phone/computer…. then wait a few weeks, then delete account if/when you are ready.

 Yesterday I was a bit frustrated with all the spam accounts in my followers that I can't seem to remove from the list on primal, and primal and amethyst were both feeling extra slow so I wasted 4 hours on a combo of Reddit/YouTube yesterday. Fun, but what a waste! I need to prevent the doomscrolling more...
