@e2bc32de In theory, I agree - it's the principle of the #Fediverse itself which should become a new social media standard. In practice, #Mastodon is the most popular Fediverse application by far, and the easiest entry point. I am all for pointing out alternatives for specific applications, such as #Pixelfed for image hosting. But newcomers need to get started somewhere, and it's best if they don't get overwhelmed early on.
