Hey, this should be the flow that you see when you start your Alby Hub for the first time:
https://demos.getalby.com/demo/clz2zpzys3dozz9kdr9ctnxq3

This helps you to get a lightning channel and be able to receive payments.

DM me your alby account and I make sure that you get a free channel that allows you to receive payments.

the screenshot that you share there is the feature when you want to manually open a channel from some onchain bitcoin. There you need to have at least a certain amount, but higher amounts are better because you want to have big enough channels to send and receive. (the amounts you see there are no fees, but the amount of money that you should have for that feature to make sense)
Where can I learn how the hub works?
we're in the process of releasing it.
you already find some information in the guides: https://guides.getalby.com/user-guide/v/alby-account-and-browser-extension/alby-hub/introduction
Thanks! I hope it makes opening channels less risky ;)
Glaca, zapraszamy na onboarding - wyjaśnimy jak Hub działa i chętnie usłyszymy Twój feedback! Wybierz czas na https://cal.com/getalby/alby-hub-onboarding i dozo

How many sats would you recommend for opening the first channel this way?
this default auto-pilot flow gives you incoming liquidity of 1m sats. so you can instantly receive lightning payments of any amount you want up to 1m.

if you manually want to open a channel to be able to send, then you deposit onchain funds and open a channel. We recommend there at least 250k sats. but that depends on how much you want to be able to send and receive.
a channel costs the onchain transaction fee and you want to open it once and have it as long as possible.
so better choose a higher amount because you don't want to open soon again another channel because the one lacks capacity.
Gotcha, thanks for the help. So I can open an incoming channel with 1m sats regardless of what is in my Alby account if I choose to use that?

If I want an outbound channel I need to set that up manually and ideally have it at 250k minimum?

Just want to double check, first time trying to run a lightning node!
If you want outbound capacity you need to put some money in.
So you can also just send a few sats in through that first channel you get. You don't need to specifically open a new channel.

You start, Alby Hub by default helps you to open a channel to receive. Then you can receive payments of any amount and that you then can spend.
Great, that makes sense, thanks for your help and patience!
