@d Explain
I'm trying to enter bios so I can friggin enable the touchpad on this laptop it is not letting me soon I discover that the expected way to enter bios is from *within windows* by shift clicking the restart option pressing F1 (the correct key) during boot isn't working because it's not even reading my keypresses before starting windows this is considered "normal"
@d Whoa. Never seen that shit gay
Dafuk. What brand laptop is this?
thinkpad p51 maybe it's possible to get into the BIOS during boot but I tried like 8 times and it didn't work. only way I could do it was by shift clicking restart in windows, then going through a multi-layer menu, then it restarted, and I was able to just press enter to get into a menu that would then let me choose to go into BIOS also windows doesn't seem to want to ever actually shut down, it will *seem* to shut down but then boots as soon as I open the lid hopefully this thing is just configured to be gay and it's not mandatory
@d @CoQ_10 @verita84 :Debian_logo: :firefox: :bing: :android: ... lenovo has a thing that turns on the computer as soon as you open the lid, and its something tou can disable. it's on my ideapad. also entering bios is easy and my laptop is from 2021
this is used so I'm assuming it's just configured all fucky perfect condition though, except the clit mouse this thing looks like it was never used. 4K screen too, it's really nice
@d @CoQ_10 @verita84 :Debian_logo: :firefox: :bing: :android: ... > 4k screen im so jelly
@d @CoQ_10 @verita84 :Debian_logo: :firefox: :bing: :android: ... I've got a p52s, it's the Enter key for mine right as soon as the Thinkpad logo shows. I don't have any Windows BS to contend with though.
@d @verita84 :Debian_logo: :firefox: :bing: :android: ... If you only have Windows on the computer, you'll need to disable fast startup in order to be able to enter the BIOS directly. Easiest way is to do powercfg -h off
@6e030f75 @d @verita84 :Debian_logo: :firefox: :bing: :android: ... explains why i never had issues with entering the bios
@d @verita84 :Debian_logo: :firefox: :bing: :android: ... that's fast boot or whatever it's called. I dunno if linux supports it. generally you can (and I do) disable that in the bios
