I'm trying to enter bios so I can friggin enable the touchpad on this laptop

it is not letting me

soon I discover that the expected way to enter bios is from *within windows* by shift clicking the restart option

pressing F1 (the correct key) during boot isn't working because it's not even reading my keypresses before starting windows

this is considered "normal"
