 The other day at a shop, a little boy was showing his mother a bracelet he really liked. She very quickly replied, ‘Oh, sweetie, those are for girls. Let’s go find where they have something for boys.’ I heard it a few more times from both parents. Clearly, he liked things this society considers feminine.

I felt so bad for him because liking the ‘wrong’ things meant his interests would never be encouraged—or even allowed—by parents who are vigilant in their panic.

Just let the kid have his joy. 
 @a763f0a6 It shows you how inferior society thinks women are. I was a tomboy 60 years ago and nobody cared one bit. But in this day and age most people don’t want boys to act like girls or to like feminine things. Like there’s something wrong with it. Look at all the pejoratives and slurs STILL widely used and with no stigma against women: bitch, pussy, ho, sissy etc. Nobody blinks an eye. That’s how little our culture thinks of women
