Outside of a handful, the majority of podcasts are repetitious enough these days that I would rather listen to a bunch of theater nerds play through a long Dungeons and Dragons campaign together than listen to those podcasts.
What would you want to hear from future #bitcoin and\or #nostr podcasts?
Speaking for myself, I think there’s a desperate need for a chronological timeline based guide of how to go from Bitcoin noob with all Bitcoin on a custodial exchange and Wallet of Satoshi to self custodial, private, and tin foil hat mode in a series of baby steps. So many people find it so overwhelming they don’t take any steps because the content is so scattershot and unorganized. But a clear “step 1 if you’re on a custodial exchange watch this @BTCsessions video order a cold card and transfer your stack to self custody, step 2 then transfer from wallet of satoshi to @OpenSecret and setup that for zaps, step 3 then setup your own full node, then try out GrapheneOS on a used pixel phone”. Ideally a newcomer would write their journey of how they went through it with common pitfalls to make approachable. I think that would help a lot. I see in the tradfi world people won’t get started or change because they see “experts” who have it all figured out and it’s too daunting and unapproachable. It’s like expecting people to go from couch potato to Olympic athlete overnight. It’s got to be a gradual journey of many small steps that each are easy enough on their own that people build confidence and momentum.
Wait, you mean there’s a D&D podcast narrated by theater nerds? Why didn’t anyone tell me?
That’s literally what they do now. They broadcast their adventures. To the extent that I find myself listening, I am like “Has media failed me, or have I failed media?”
Underrated.
So podcast name?
Glass Cannon Podcast. They played through the entire Giantslayer adventure path from Paizo using the Pathfinser rule system. Have done more too but I lost track of it all.
Exactly my thoughts
I still think Lex Fridman puts out consistently interesting pods.
I stopped listening Lex after he (almost) stopped interviewing AI and Science people and go into the celebrities and stuff. I’m not saying they are bad it is just not my thing. I think Lex can have much more interesting conversations with the other science/AI people.
So you know, This exists. https://image.nostr.build/1bc0ff8d7bd9071764fe89ea741d5642096fdd0942b313bd970054157f9d583b.jpg
A lot of it is content for contents sake, fluff to put in between the ad reads
I want to listen to you finance some D & D nerds in a game on a podcast. That would be an interesting addition.
Well, I don’t mean to brag but…my new Tiefling Warlock 🧙🏾♂️ character is progressing nicely 😏
I'm done with podcasts. It was fun for a while, but the lack of editing is just frustrating. People talking for hours like I have hours. Maybe others do, but I don't. I'll miss things for sure, but if it's important or interesting enough, someone will talk about it and I'll tune if if I feel like it.
So you want to start a podcast with me?
Nope
it was worth a shot.
I think I get where you’re coming from..and I feel the same. I believe it’s because Bitcoiners have become so bored with how the future is playing out exactly as we’ve envisioned it, that we either reject social media, OR we constantly seek someone who’ll offer something we haven’t already foreseen years ago, and on a weekly basis. Either way, I’ve grown bored, as I suspect maybe you’re expressing the same? Bitcoin has, imho, outgrown social media, and is going to fomo into realms of genuine responsibility that don’t just sit around and talk about it on social media.. I don’t know if I’m expressing this correctly but personally, I cannot fucking wait for this.
This is why I have been listening to True Anon for the entirety of its existence
Podcast's Parroting the Pereto Principle. https://image.nostr.build/40c87fc6a44e40abafbc42ec399a2bef5f3b1a31423c47d1dd57d5841826e46a.jpg
When the barrier to create is so low there is bound to be a lot more chaff to sift through. Plus you have big players driven by pushing bad podcasts that might feature a one time celebrity. Originality is hard to find in a sea of mediocrity.
Your post is getting noticed. Added to the https://nostraco.in/hot feed
hello @LynAlden what do you think of this video of just 30 min where these 2 guys talk about sovereign money. the guy interviewed is called Justin walker and wrote this 20 pages doc you can find in the description of that video. is in line with what you and george gammon and many other says about #CBDC https://youtu.be/rNeoFfn6i5w?si=3rlW2c90uAZQJ7ZS
Yes, though there is still much to discuss. Bitcoin is entering a critical middle game.
"the majority of podcasts" - I mean, there are 4.3mn podcasts available. I'm glad you've managed to listen to them all. Even the D&D play-by-play ones. Tip: go find a podcast called "New Podcast Trailers", which is a set of new shows every day. I curate it, but you'll never hear me there!
Are there any good podcasts that focus on martial arts?
There is only one “ best podcast in the universe “ https://image.nostr.build/a74e9bce07abb7f5888f156061d1853f0d955753a8fbc06b982b20cd42a81a60.jpg
Then give us a listen sometime and maybe send a boost through a Podcasting 2.0 app. I orange-pilled all our players over the last couple years. We aren't theater nerds, just normies with jobs and families who like tabletop RPGs. https://fountain.fm/show/zdPrsM3xGJ1sZTh3qhtX A lot of people like to start with this episode: https://fountain.fm/episode/FazvriQUxqP11L1CFM4g
That being said, I still have a backlog of podcasts to hear. I've branched out to health, nutrition, carnivore, and modern survival. Robert Breedlove, Guy Swann, Jack Spirko TSP, Dr. Saifedean Ammous, Natalie Brunell, Tim Farris, Dr. Shawn Baker, Richard Smith The Keto Pro, Ivor Cummins, Dr. Anthony Chaffee, Dr. Ron Paul, AI in Business Podcast, and the TWiT network series podcasts.
This can probably be quantified by looking at the rate of episodes in which podcasters interview other podcasters... to fuel the repetitiveness and echo-chamber. Feels like I've witnessed more of this lately. Need to shift gears and reactivate an old passion. Anyone have a recommendation for a Magic the Gathering podcast?
I enjoy the glass cannon podcast for that reason. The whole giant slayer arc is good.
I listen to the glass cannon podcast for that reason. The giant slayer arc is great.
I agree, but surely the answer is not D&D.
Have you ever watched voice actors playing through a long campaign of Dungeons & Dragons?? It is undoubtedly more interesting than 99.9% of podcasts (I mean that without sarcasm — the voice actors really bring the game to life). https://youtu.be/P8pLvV3FjPc
The space is saturated, the "knowledge" frequently borrowed or recycled. Glad it's there to get noobs up to speed, but there comes a "graduation day" where you don't understand all of Bitcoin, but you're ready to stop being spoonfed. You get the basic concepts. That's my experience. My two sats. You probably hit that point long ago, especially being one of the experts called upon.
