No one uses Facebook. But everyone uses Facebook Marketplace. Items fly faster than I can type. It's incredible.
Only after you review 500 spam messages....
Also lots of scammers lol. More than eBay.
 #marketplacr anyone?
Marketplace is useful. Wish Nostr had similar.
 There is already.
 Oh ok.
 Check plebian.market

It is quite early and needs to be filled. Don't know if it will survive. But i'm sure there will be several of theese in future.
 Thank you
 You're welcome.
I will set in some things to sell there just to support them and see how it goes.
Nope that website just shows a cat falling asleep. Literally
 Lol
sorry
my typo.
But was on the same cat when i searches first time.
lol
try
plebeian.market
Cool, found it. Not sure I can spell that again on the fly. But glad to know it exists.
Yeah. Been considering making a new FB profile lately just to access the marketplace. Would probably just leave a post on there saying don't fucking contact me about personal shit on here, use Signal.
Yeah Facebook is Facebook market place only. It can be really amazing. Radius search, which eBay doesn't seem to do (I'm not much of an eBay buyer) is so useful.
If nostr marketplaces catches on (with Bitcoin payments 👀) that will be nostr's killer app for many people.
No account, no invasive ads, no political bs... Just an open and censorship resistant marketplace
 Hi @Vitor Pamplona
yes they know how to survive at Facebook.
It is all about knowing their users and their needs.
What about you? Are you up fore some NOSTR User research?
Would you support such an idea?
Do you need Data for your development?
An interesting aspect of Facebook is that it's available in very limited countries. If we were to build something similar on Nostr and Lightning, it will be available across the world.

There is nothing more powerful than decentralized marketplace. It will have a very huge impact.
Agree but FB's marketplace is local. Everything I sell is to local folks.
how does it compare to Craigslist ?
Another interesting feature would be to be able to search for local posts in general. I may want to know what people in a certain geographic area are posting about.
Making a globally accessible marketplace is one of the goals for @shopstr.

Around here, long before Facebook, we had https://classifieds.KSL.com

Everyone still uses KSL Classifieds. Nobody in Utah ever used the pervert infused Craigslust.
Years ago, I posted an acupuncture book and they took the image (not of a real person) on the cover with meridian points as a nude and banned me.

So I'll stick with eBay until there's a good Nostr/Bitcoin marketplace.

That's the only thing keeping me from deleting it
Fired up FB for the 1st time in years because I am looking for something used.
 Yes!

I've bought 3 things in the last week on marketplace.

It's a bit creepy how well it knows what I like.

I've created a fake profile on a Linux laptop specifically for marketplace & it learns very quickly what I like.
 Selling feet pics?
I use neither. I deleted my account when I saw the censorship going on during the covidshow.
