Oddbean new post about login | logout V4V goes beyond zaps. Patreon/Substack/etc clearly shows that this can be sustainable for many people and is the better model for most non-shallow content. My argument is that the reason why someone signs up for someone's Patreon is not because they'll have access to potentially paywalled content. Paywalls weren't even a thing in the early days of Substack, proving my point.
In your opinion is it feasible (on a practical level) for a creator within the bitcoin and Nostr “space” to take a V4V approach with their content using bitcoin-only, or do fiat payment methods need to be part of their approach? Technologically, sats/zaps/lightning makes it all so much easier, especially when you can start to incorporate automatic lightning splits, but practically, many people just seem more willing to part with dollars and cents than with sats.
