I tried disabling Italian, but it still shows the translated version. There is no option to "show original". This would solve the immediate problem.

It would also be cool if translation was optional for each note and I could turn it on and off for each note.  

 After disabling for a specific language, how do I enable it again? (I still want Italian to be translated, just don't want the falsely detected Italian to be translated) 

 Once you disable it, it is disabled until you log off and log in again.
