 Profit for who? Depopulation and Communism is also a profit motive and a conspiracy against the free market. 

When a business cuts it's own throat in order to gain favorable status in lending it's not profit.

 It does not cut it's own throat. It works the same way as other standards - it is taking out competition. Access to loans is only late addition, although it by itself is enough motive in fiat economy. Getting access to money printer for negative interest rate is worth a lot of money, sure they can hire a few people to write some ESG bullshit paperwork, it's cheaper than whatever they make on interest only. 

But the real thing is capture of the market. Big corporations enforce this bullshit through network effects. Want to be a supplier to IBM? Sure, show them your ESG project. Want to do consulting for a bank? Oh sorry mate, even though you are single contractor, we can't accept suppliers without ESG. Because we want to keep our ESG certificate too and if we contract with non ESG entities, we lose it. 

Basically ESG is creating special market with privileged access with cheap credit and cheap competitors out. And they get preferred access to money printed by the state (budget)

Your last sentence suggest the real truth in that it's not just capitalism. It's fascism -- not the trendy, "I hate you so your fascist.", but the genuine collaboration of state, central bank, NGO and large corporations which is not free market capitalism. 

This is conspiracy. It's the intention of not only market capture but the elimination of people and their businesses and their wealth. As long as the central bank is involved it is Marxism and fascism shaking penises at the swap meet. 

The motive isn't profit. It's dominion. Profit is useful for the free market. Dominium is useful for domination, population control and usurping the abilityb of other humans to equily engage in the marketplace. 

Here the result is graffiti, inferior products, shit services from theb government and slavery the serves a few conspirators. 

So my question would be, "Where is the line between the extremes?"

As the line is the functional part that is organic and merely needs good relationships to operate. This line is not conspiracy, fascism or market capture. It's the natural line of excellence and superior operating entities. It's the Chinese symbol, Chung or the balance of yin and yang. It's the Temple of Solomon (sol + mon which is Sun and Moon). Also known as the Dharma. 

Conspiracy is outside of the line. It's the intention to sway or disrupt and it always fails after petty victories. Not recognizing the conspiracy is ignorance on the part of those who blindly consume. There is no market capture in inferior products. It's just ego and dominion or masculine energy manipulating feminine energy (or disguised as feminine energy).

Never under estimate conspiracy. It's only a theory projected by government steering operator. Symbolically it is occulted by the masters over the slaves.
