It's been a long decline. It's coming up to a breaking point, just like the rest of the country and possibly the world. Just like every other century in history.
Used to be my favorite place in the world and for two decades I dreamed of moving there. Now I have had the opportunity to do so, for the past few years, and I keep rejecting the offer to move over. I has been a suicide, absolutely. But a slow, long one that's been excruciating to watch.

Cali's dumb gun laws are a really big issue with me. Your governor just signed a law prohibiting schools from informing parents if their mentally ill children are using delusional pronouns at school. Your income taxes keep going up. Properties are exorbitant due to onerous zoning restrictions and meddlesome regulations. Your gas and electricity prices are out of control. The state is killing small businesses and making it harder for people to get by. It's become a terrible place for anyone like me who cares about any of that stuff. You don't. Cool. Enjoy. I certainly won't and don't.
If you think home prices here are because of zoning you have no idea how the real estate market works. I have and ran/run a small business for years and what your saying is not true at all. School stuff yup, but I don’t have kids and if ya do homeschool em then, not my fucking problem. And yes our gun laws suck but you actually obey that? I do know how real estate works when a market is artificially comstricted. It's good you like it. I hated it when I was there briefly. I hope to never return.

Everyone should have a healthy love hate relationship with where they are from. It’s a home base, love it or hate it, I got perfect weather, mountains and beaches within minutes and paradise for a boarder, I’m content, I simply find it funny that internet haters like yourself feel any need to comment on a state you don’t fucking live in lol 😜
I comment on the state I currently occupy and others I'm considering moving to as well. There is no perfect place.

I flipped homes here and owned and sold my other properties. Prop 13 has kept California affordable for anyone who has grown up and lived here. I agree with some of your points. But most as soft as baby 💩. Crime/school/local legislation you can find problems with state to state, besides guns and Newsom being a greedy terrible cunt your other points don’t matter much in regards to being California special/specific problems.
