I have an older sister who is battling Long-haul Covid complications among other medical issues. Imagine my disgust when her husband tells me over dinner that his Covid symptoms were so mild that his doctor told him he didn't need to worry about getting the boosters. He got the initial 2-shot vaccination but nothing since. I take a two day beat-down every time I get a Covid booster to protect loved ones and it doesn't occur to this selfish asshole to do what he can to help protect my sister.
@4a888f94 One thing I think communicators may not have done a good job of is explaining that the more times you get sick, the sicker you are (intensity), and the longer you are sick, the more likely you are to transmit the virus to someone else. I think too many folks don't see this as probabilistic. I think FWIW, some non-evil folks are doing careless things out of ignorance. (Just rambling here. No critiques.)
@4a888f94 I don’t know the situation, but if Brother-in-law’s Dr (who presumably took into account your sister being vulnerable) told him to not bother with a booster, then any blame lies with the Dr? I never had the reaction to jabs that you describe. If they affect you so much, then would you want the virus itself? Getting jabbed is in your self-interest.
