And why would you want to get hooked? You can get hooked on heroin, are you a customer of a heroin dealer? Probably not.

There always need to be two sides of a deal. It would be evil if you had to buy their product. But we don't.
Why would a dealer (food) want its customer to get hooked?

I never tried heroin. If I did, I’d be probably hooked by now.

We are wired to take advantage of (naturally rare) food that packs high amount of sugar/fat/salt. We feast on it as much as we can because it used to be rare. Honey is a good example.

As to buying their products… YOU don’t. I don’t (anymore) but what about the other 8 or so billion people on the planet?

Imagine I got you hooked to heroin as a kid…
Everyone is responsible for their actions. And every trade has two sides.

If I was hooked on heroin as a kid, I would blame my parents more than the dealer. I have even less strict attitude towards food companies.

They are offering and I am choosing, I am very picky and I am at the driver's seat of my life.

I don't know about other people, maybe they are happy the way there are. If not, it's only them who can change their lives, not even their friends and definitely not the companies.
I’d blame my parents AND the dealer. Even more so when the dealer has access to information proving that what he is doing is harmful to a child. Everyone is responsible.

Let me put it this way… congratulations for your judgment and self control. I wish you to look at those who are still lost with compassion.
 But are they lost?

I don't know their priorities in life. I don't believe everyone should live as I do. Maybe they prefer shorter but sweeter life, maybe it's worth it for them. Maybe they are not ready yet.
Somethings aren't deals. It is about Access and Agency. And yes there are concerted efforts to minimize certain access to key information wich would change your perception and M.O.
If you don't know a better road. You'll never search for one. And yes it is all about bottemline breaking point management.
How many times can you whip a mans back before he starts to fight back.
