i feel more at home at AirBnb places than hotels. hotels feel so tacky and fake to me, idk. maybe just use booking.com or smth instead i suppose
Hotels are great. Bed is usually good quality. You can order room service whenever. Mini bar in the room. Free soaps and shampoos. Complimentary robe. People at the front desk will help you with requests, give directions etc… somebody else makes your bed and cleans up after you every day. Giant ice machine down the hall. Huge pool and gym. Bar downstairs. Paradise.
i don't know they just don't feel like home to me maybe i just don't like that tourist kinda vibe that hotels make me feel
I've stayed in a lot of Airbnbs all over the world over the last decade. A few of them on the weekly rate and 3 of the on the monthly rate. Lived in them during the lockdowns at incredible prices. There's been a trend that's growing where more and more of them want you to do an absurd amount of cleaning while still charging a large cleaning fee. The last bad one wanted all the trash taken outside to a big can and then the can down to the curb, start washing all the towels, put all the sheets in the laundry room, and wash the dishes. Not much else to be done before the next guest but they still charged $220 cleaning fee. Outside of that extra time needed to comb through the bullshit, in some cities it can be better than a hotel. Very different in other cities and countries.
yeah, i do agree on that why do i not get back the cleaning fee, if i'm literally taking care of all of it

Ohh I’ve stayed at a few. Always been the best experience. Just a couple thing ya know, let the kids stay home.

I've also not had bad hotel experiences I guess either. I'm sure both have their issues if you're unlucky and RNG hits you. I like each for different reasons. If I'm barely going to spend any time there, then a hotel all the way, but if I'm planning on spending a lot of time there, then I'd like to spend time in an Airbnb.
I like Airbnb for when I want to stay at dirty houses with no amenities and insane rules, plus the added benefit of getting to deal with a crazy person throughout the experience.
so true, they started with low price and no services, now they are normalizing high prices, no services and shitty and dangerous structures. The only good thing airbnb has done is pressured the market with a flood of low barried accessibile partecipations, so that actual good services like hotels have been pushed to become better and cheaper.
The only time airbnb wins is when you need a place for lots of people I.e extended families all staying together. A whole house can be more accommodating in this sense. Every other scenario hotels win

100% agree. The idea of my five feral children in a hotel sounds like a recipe for disaster. At least in an Airbnb I can cook a healthy dinner and not have to go to bed at 8:30 when my kids do.
My wife says Airbnb usually because of price and location.

Ive had more bad hotel experiences than bad airbnb experiences but on percentage basis the airbnb side is worse and a higher risk to begin with. I'll still consider an airbnb, but not when timing is critical with a large event in the area that everyone is going to. Had too many convenient cancellations by the host just so they could turn around and list the same period for 40 to 50% more. When an AirBNB workd out its awesome though
Airbnb was great in the 2010s, but it's a joke and a major grift today. I loathe all the BS ticky-tack rules and inflated prices. Hotels, motels, and traditional rentals are supreme as we approach the middle 2020s.
I get where you’re coming from but just the fact I get a kitchen that enables me to avoid food soaked in vegetable oils is easily worth it. But yea, quality is declining here and there. On the other hand, I also see a lot of airbnbs being operated more like hotels which gets rid of some of the problems for sure
