Be which way? Powerful or feel powerful?
Both to varying degrees. It's difficult to explain but a man who has and understands true love and possesses all the needs to care for his loved ones isn't constantly striving for dominance in any way. In other words, he doesn't have the need to feel or be powerful and is always open to compromise. A man who has all the needs to care for his loved but doesn't understand true love might feel like he's missing an essential part of being human; constantly attempting to fill that missing portion of his soul with the power he gains. Maybe I'm subjective but that's just my opinion.
No, I get it now, but...

You are conflating being powerful with being domineering. Those are often shown together, but, do not have to be.

This is the same concept of being peaceful but exceptionally capable and willing to use swiftly applied violence if a situation arises that requires violence to solve. If a person is not capable of violence, then they cannot be truly said to be peaceful since they are not choosing to be peaceful, they are required to be based on their posture.

Lol does this even matter given the context of this conversation?

Have you ever experienced true love?
