 Thats already a setting in damus. You can disable auto translate

 Unfortunately, the “on demand” translation hasn't been available to me for a long time, even though I would like to personally select which note to translate at the touch of a button.

 yeah we added translations to purple because of how unreliable the other options were, but this will bring one-click translations to everyone which is nice
