Compromised people should have voluntarily quarantined and Robust healthy people should have continued their lives as normal. It wouldn’t have damaged the economy, hardly anyone would have died (barely anyone died anyway) and it would have provided better herd immunity for at risk populations. The masks were theatre. Pretending that scientists efforts were evil frankly puts a target on my back when we were working very hard to get things right. There is no guarantee one can produce a cure every time and on a short schedule, whether vaccine or drug. Getting treatments out that reduce hospital loads and have the potential to restart the economy would be a big win, even if not a full on cure. Additionally the severity in symptoms reduces over time because of survivorship bias and mutation— many viruses evolve towards being asymptomatic as a means of survival. Saying covid is no big deal now is not very controversial, but the viruses floating now are not the same as before and not infecting the same susceptible population.

Government power decreases significantly w/o ability to create/print money. People still have to THINK and push back. But the reality is, ALL war was 'printed' - since the invention of clipping coins. Welfare is a modern day (last several hundred years) human event. Nearly all humans can add value to other humans w/removal of the welfare state. This does not happen overnight, it can take generations of pain (created by generational welfare). Also, hard money based on work/energy stored in time gives a LOT of power to the people. So while Government is being stripped of their power, the individual is gaining incredible power. This is happening now - but it's a slow process most don't see. Furthermore, with real money, those that get rich have to on continue to produce REAL value for others/society or they will lose their power. The Government 'powers' that promise to protect you from the elites with more taxes and rules/laws historically have 100% benefited - you guessed it - the rich/elites (not the poor). Yet the poor being uneducated and not willing to read fall for it generation after generation. In the centrally controlled USA economy we have today (along with most of the world), the rich just get richer w/o much/any added value. The Elites understand history - they know how well this works. Power is the ability to get other humans to do what you want them to. Violence is the most effective form of power. When the government is the only one who can rightly use violence, everyone who can’t are their slaves, as they must obey or face this violence. Going back to 1776-1930 America means the people have the police powers again, and no man is slave to another. Judges, politicians, donors, police can’t get away with murder when anyone can enforce the law. Hence “equality under the law”. We went from being the only free country on the planet, to being the least free country the world has ever known, and it all came with these governments ending equality under the law.
We differ here too. Violence is the LEAST effective form of power - which is why it's always a last resort. Government is the most effective way, currently, to get people to do what you want them to do - more specifically money and power. Violence is the least effective because it destroys 'resources' on BOTH sides of the battle/war. Local Governments don't go to war with the city next to them. You need people to group together to accomplish efficiency gains for people - we are far more productive together. I have a house in an HOA. I actually support HOA's over city Government. They are great for managing local problems (campers/boats in drives, lawn care, etc...). And if you don't like the HOA rules, you can always move to a location that allows campers in the yard. Small groups doing what they want - it's great.
