Benson Plateau Backpacking: Day 2 I started out the day not feeling great about my trip because of terrible weather the day prior. After the sun came out things improved quickly. I was on Chinidere Mountain for sunrise. Had incredible mountain views on Tomlike Mountain, including Mount Adams. Then I saw some awesome views of Wahtum Lake I hadn’t seen before. Great day. #Backpacking #PNW #Oregon #Photography #Hiking #Walking #Nature #Outdoors #Landscape #LandsapePhotography #Mountains https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/111/161/507/934/587/187/original/f484b26e548eab91.jpeg https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/111/161/509/035/509/428/original/d62669d87861031a.jpeg https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/111/161/508/464/850/026/original/32821c698dce8d50.jpeg https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/111/161/508/738/847/127/original/02fcaa2189bd219c.jpeg
@c531994e Incredible indeed, Andrew 👏👏 Thanks for sharing
@c531994e Beautiful images 😊 Have a wonderful time ☀️
Benson Plateau Backpacking: Wrap Woke up at the abandoned Indian Springs campground with more condensation on my tent than I’ve ever experienced. Completely soaked. I wanted sun but lesson learned not to set up camp without tree cover. Headed back on the Eagle Creek Trail to most likely see the waterfalls for the last time this year. I just love Twister Falls, third photo. 😍 #Backpacking #PNW #Oregon #Photography #Hiking #Walking #Nature #Outdoors #Landscape #LandsapePhotography #Waterfalls https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/111/168/000/679/882/826/original/39a2db86ab824169.jpeg https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/111/168/001/155/246/376/original/95e675f91f3c561b.jpeg https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/111/168/002/233/734/621/original/bc43bfd7f0d36770.jpeg https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/111/168/002/506/660/509/original/567eee80f98cc693.jpeg
@c531994e That’s a lot of rock blasting for a hiking trail. That tunnel looks really cool.
@b7396b65 I believe the Civilian Conservation Corps did this work between 80 and 90 years ago. I doubt they would build this trail today. The first flush toilet in a U.S. forest is at the trailhead. To my surprise, they have reopened it and it was operational. Had been closed and seemingly condemned but maybe just due to covid.
