 @b7396b65 I believe the Civilian Conservation Corps did this work between 80 and 90 years ago. I doubt they would build this trail today. The first flush toilet in a U.S. forest is at the trailhead. To my surprise, they have reopened it and it was operational. Had been closed and seemingly condemned but maybe just due to covid.
