I continue to view @Blue Collar Bitcoin as one of the best podcasts out there. And probably the best podcast relative to its size. They spent a whole episode talking about risks, which is important. https://youtu.be/jzF6jg7d7-I?si=AObmQkcmU8iqkpJ- Some podcasts speak to an echo chamber and reinforce their own views. Dan and Josh from Blue Collar Bitcoin are always reaching to challenge themselves and their audience. As much as I like Austrian economic theory, what I really love is good money *winning in the field*. I love to see practical discussions about good money from people around the world who aren’t in the primary business of talking about money. They end up doing it more interestingly than most monetary theorists.
Wow what a compliment for a couple of hog wrestlers. Well done fellas!
Yeah, I burned through a lot of their episodes recently. I do like the discussions although it feels a bit like Preston Pysh lite. For some more idiosyncratic chats I have found "Rock Paper Bitcoin" & "High Hash Rate" pods to be quite good.
What is their absolute best episode to start with? I’ve listed to TFTC, WBD, Pysh, etc for years and have felt burnt out from it lately. Thanks for suggestion.
I mean, probably this one. But other than that, look through their title list and find one that appeals.
Their first pod with Joe Carlasare.
Just subbed. Looking forward to it, and thank you so much for the suggestion!
I just discovered them through this post thanks Lyn! @Blue Collar Bitcoin you guys rock
Gresham's law is tough to beat.
Definitely a good rip to keep everyone grounded in reality. On a somewhat related note, did you happen to listen to Dr. Art Laffer on Ark's podcast? Would be curious to hear your take. https://ark-invest.com/podcast/bitcoin-brainstorm-03-back-to-basics-debunking-some-of-bitcoins-biggest-misconceptions/
Next on my list.
@sebbunney & @daz are rock solid Bitcoiners. I can't imagine they'd be returning so often if the firefighters weren't solid too. Will give it a listen. 🤙
I just finished the pod gents. What a ripper! Entertaing, intellectually honest & funny AF. I felt a little triggered at times & wanted to sling counter arguments back. I can only imagine what it was like for you guys to have that ability & still restrain your inner autist. The major threat that I think is worth hedging against or at least gaming out is the threat of prolonged price suppression. I think it's occurring to a degree now & could get worse or persist for longer than we expect. We all gotta eat & I only have so much beef in my freezer. Ultimately I trust in the human desire for self preservation & greed. The alignment of so many incentives is Bitcoin's greatest achievement. It's what gives me so much hope & it's so rarely perfected (never?) in human engineered systems. My red flags for Bitcoin (I stole this from the slightly less autistic Dunworth) are: - no more than 21 million bitcoin - the next block will be added to the time chain If those 2 conditions are likely to be met, I have confidence in Bitcoin's survival. I'm also in favour of Bitcoin's ossification beyond any necessary forks (the Unix date bug is a known example). Much respect & love to you all. Thank you 🧡🤙
Agreed. One of the few podcast of any topic that I listen to every episode.
Appreciate that.👊
I agree Getting out of what I want to hear is important. Biggest thing I look for in a podcast is that it is not trying to “sell” me on something. Well at least not selling too hard we all have a bent in one direction or another.
Sounds good, going to check these guys out
Great episode. Bitcoiner since early 2017, I appreciate this being put out there for the people who missed some of the rough patches during that time. I can't stand the moon boys podcasts.
They have some good Bitcoin content, not least their Basics series, and I don't mind their rough language etcetera, but they lost me as a listener the other day when they, in addition to similar things earlier, described their plan to trick a colleague who was getting married that the firehouse had a swingers club, and goad him into wanting to go... Sure, I have no clue about their personalities, and cultures differ, but in my opinion, people trying to shame their colleagues are not people whose ads I want to listen to. (I would almost consider suicide if I was tricked like that and fell for it, and definitely quit the job instantly even if I didn't, I wouldn't want to work with such people)
Whoah, that’s an intense response. Sorry if made u feel that way. We can assure u that individual finds this sort of joking hilarious. Our workplace is rowdy, but it’s a genuinely loving and caring place. We support each other and don’t ostracize or poke at those who can’t handle it. All the best, D&J
Thanks. As long as you know it's true, and not just smiling on the outside and shriveling up inside. (Been there way too many times myself, regarding far less extreme things...) And again thanks for the answer: I hadn't expected such a positive response, from the source, but rather random people racking down on me for "not being able to handle a joke", being "weak" or similar.
