We really need a substantive discussion to establish basic moral standards for reducing animal suffering in the farming industry.
Unfortunately, the issue has been hijacked by clowns, reminiscent of what happened with climate change.
Personally, I think we can do better, and collectively, we should strive to minimize suffering.
I think the criticism placed on industrial meat production has legitimate substance. When humans aren’t interacting at a human scale with anything, land, creature, animal or human, they don’t behave…humanely. Given that a humans ethical wetware is based on direct interaction the distance from production to consumption creates problems.
