By “trade offs”, one assumes you mean the frequent slaughters of innocent Americans in elementary schools, grocery stores, churches, night clubs, concerts and college campuses and, most recently, a GOP rally. If you’re arguing the reality of carnage today is worth it because you think a sea of civilian guns theoretically beats the United States military in a fantasy future matchup, ok, say it. Most Americans disagree.
Oh yeah, and forgot to mention that the “trade offs” also happens in Venezuela, only that the average citizen doesn’t has guns, only thieves and murderers that are allied to the current government, and there is no way for them to defend themselves.
You haven’t yet said what you mean by trade offs in America. Effective means for depressed people to commit suicides? Small children getting their hands on Daddy’s guns and killing themselves or others? What, exactly, do you mean?
All of it. All of it you can do with a tool and its at your disposal without restrictions. Just like an open protocol for money or for communication. Can be use for bad things but it doesn’t mean with need to leave it for the few in power to Hold them for us.
I get it. I just don’t agree with it. If it comes to civil war in this country, I don’t see a few citizens with AR-15s defeating the side with hellfire missiles, unless their ideas are better. I general, I don’t see that either. In general, the social ideas of the side with AR-15s repel me and half of the country and we don’t want to live in that place, so I guess you’ll have to kill us all if you can. Unless our half has the drones, Apaches and F-18s, in which case, good luck with your AR-15s.
