Just thoughts out loud.
If you tell me to recommend a desktop wallet for bitcoin, it's clear to me:
Sparrow
If you tell me to recommend a bitcoin wallet for mobile, I have it clear:
Green Wallet
If you tell me to recommend a custodial lightning wallet, it's clear to me:
Blink (like WOS but open source).
If you tell me to recommend a self-custodial Lightning wallet:
Sorry, I'm not clear, I'm not convinced by any of them.
Phoenix is the one that works best, no doubt, but I am totally against applying a 0.4% fee to send through Lightning.
Zeus and Blixt, I like them, but let's be honest, comparing them with phoenix they fail a lot, although zeus has improved a lot using their LSP, even so, it's not even close to the experience I want to recommend a wallet to a friend.
The green lightning wallet looks promising, but it is the one that fails the most.
As for mutiny I don't share their philosophy of being a pwa.
Breez is perhaps the most balanced app but I don't like that the app has functions beyond a lightning wallet.
Which signing device do you recommend?
I'm starting to find it difficult, there are so many good devices out there
Sparrow is a God.
Haven't tried most of the other ones you mentioned. I'll check out blink and green.
Phoenix was confusing.
Zeus is slower than dialup internet.
Which Monero wallets do you use?
I have only used Monero from the desktop, the mobile applications of monero more of the same, I don't like them.
Do you know Mysu for mobile? I like Feather for desktop.
What don't you like about them specifically?
I Like @ZEUS, and it's philosophy, I disabled express graph sync and now, the wallet starts in 30sec.
Its not so easy as wos but is powerful
You gave blink your phone number to register, no thanks
You can do it with a virtual number and then you can delete the number and put a fake email, it is only used for the purpose of recovering your balance.
But I understand your concern.
What are your thoughts regarding the new(ish) Aqua Wallet by Jan3?
It is a curious idea but LN-BTC to L-BTC swaps should not be automatic, as the fees applied make them unfeasible for micropayments.
Agreed. For now, I like the use of a dedicated lightning wallet for micropayments. And so far, Aqua seems to be a good 'intermediary' wallet for those that don't (or won't) use LN-BTC.
SeedSigner and Sparrow Wallet
Fully agree. Zeus works fine to connect to my own Lightning node via Tailscale. Mutiny force-closed my channel for no reason and now my sats are stuck in on-chain limbo.
On mobile I use #electrum. But yes I'm biased :)
people who recommend custodial lightning wallets for any reason have no credibility
fair enough
as for souvereign LN mobile wallets:
if you look at the development of the Blockstream Jade from day one (a very long time ago that the device came out) and if you realize that the Green LN wallet is taking such a development, then I bet on Zeus and Green Lightning.
For now.
I like as non custodial blue wallet:
for Lightning LND
for Lightning connected to my Umbrel Lightning node
for watching only to my hw
Never had problem with it.
It’s also good for any keys recovery
Makes good widgets on my iPhone screen too.
Connected to my electrum server too.
Family use it too.
this.
blue wallet plus lndhub work purr-fectly~!! 🐾✨
Blue wallet with Jade and with Umbrel, tested works great. I paid pizza 🍕 via Lightning ⚡️. Video is in my posts here somewhere.
