 Allowing us to write our gender is actually a good idea. I would also love the option of allowing us to write in our political affiliation and many other options. 

This could allow us to mass find or mass block people with certain views. 

Nostr or relays could also gather statistics on how many male, female trans etc are on nostr.

We currently have no way to find or view statistics on what type of people are on nostr

 I get what you're saying, but I'm of the belief that the more information people can optionally put in their profile, the better. It expands individual choice and gives people who are so inclined to express themselves the way they want. Seems easy enough to just ignore it if it's something you're not interested in providing. I see it as an expansion of personal freedom.

I think it’s dumb, but some people don’t. Nostr is about free choice.  

 Of course anyone is free to put pronouns in their bio. But to make it a named field is elevating it's importance as if it is truly global instead of a fringe idea to a small group of English speaking leftists. I think it's a mistake, politics aside.
