 Just lift the whole machine. 
 Free weights are better than machines b/c you strengthen the small stabilizer muscles along with the major large muscles. Prevents injuries later on. 
 THE FREE WEIGHTS ONLY GO UP TO 50 POUNDS  
 This is why most hotel gyms stink. You are almost better off getting a day pass at a local gym. Many give these out for free.

 Nah machines (well designed ones anyway) are generally better at enabling people of all skill levels to achieve the desired stimulus that will result in an increase in muscle size and strength, improvements in cardiovascular function, bone density and tendon strengthening. All of which is the purpose of resistance training.

The whole “you are the machine” free weights good, machined bad mantra popularized by Crossfit is nonsense. The functional movement trend as a whole is also mostly marketing to sell you something. Much like shitcoin land

Resistance training is one thing and skills/sports are something else. Lots to say about that, but that’s enough of an unsolicited rant lol 
 Nothing wrong with an all burpee workout either. 
 The secret to push-ups is that you always increase the weight.

 What is this...a Machine for ants?! 
 Get some BFR bands for traveling  
 More reps, and control with slower tempo. Not an exact replacement but you’ll maintain strength better that way and still get a good burn
