Oddbean new post about login | logout Trying to clear out my mute list (800+ npubs 😅) to start fresh and it’s proving to be more difficult than I thought it would be 😂 Nostrudel and Listr both showed me having 2 mute lists 🤷♂️ Listr let me delete both of them, and then one came back on Listr. Nostrudel still showed both of them and deleting them in Nostrudel didn’t make them disappear. I tried the deletion microapp at https://nostr-delete.vercel.app and that didn’t get rid of them either. So now I’m manually unmuting them in Primal, but when I close and reopen Primal there are still npubs on my mute list. Anyway, I hope it works and I hope this gets easier on nostr. 😂

lol probably 3/4 of them were spam bots from the global feed from back at the beginning of 2023, when global was still somewhat usable 😂 Some were also from me trying to mute hell threads back before we could mute threads more easily. Not pointing fingers on that one though 😜🤣🫂

Deleting replaceable events is hard because the main relay everybody uses (strfry) doesn't implement it correctly.

Yea it didnt show there after I deleted it but still showed in nostrudel. I just deleted the cached events on nostrudel and now it’s gone there too now so maybe that was it.

Just an a tag won't do it. You have to delete the e tag the relay has. If there is a new deletion event that deleted a newer version with an a tag to delete all the past versions from there and the relay has a past version, the past version stays. Meaning, deletions with a tags don't actually work.
I don't know man, spending time and energy to mute people is very bad. And then again spending time and energy to unmute. Why not just ignore what you don't like, and engage with what you like? You can't really control others. Great example of this is napoleon he knew life is chaotic and unpredictable so he learned to be adaptable and deal with stuff. And found great success. Then later he became control freak and then suffered the biggest losses. you cant control the world. But you can control yourself. One thing that works is how you position yourself. -If you are on twitter, instead of blocking everyone its much better to come to nostr. (Control yourself) -If you see a lot of stuff you don't like. Engage with other npubs. Again, instead of trying to control the world, control yourself -I don't like football so I spend 15 minutes a year talking about it (because of the way I position myself)(I follow you and I don't think you talk to much about football)
