Fuck Reddit. Now they are locking my account on a weekly basis and forcing a password reset. The only reason I can come up with to explain this is they're discriminating against me for using VPNs. https://image.nostr.build/2c5a4440b28d4b202391078046a9874ac3ae6517b6bb6deeb84383377640927f.jpg
stacker.news is the new reddit
It would seem so nostr:nevent1qqs8kdsat4y0napk2mad8jzrr0v3yerhh5j74seadq57p0a3ahndpygpzpmhxue69uhnzdps9enrw73wd9hsygz89azq7200n9hf9gvxhrfjplccpjz4jqug9eva2r0phz74v6fsrcpsgqqqqqqsnvhs96
Ignore this. I mistook the link for making a different point.
Never had an account but sometimes I'll search something that leads me to a subreddit and the last few days I've been blocked from accessing public pages. I also figured it is because I am using a VPN.
NOSTR all the way baby!
Or these guys looking out for ya https://m.primal.net/HfpB.jpg
Quite likely. Theyre public now, its investor pleasing time... x.x
anything centralised is bad... no exceptions
All I get from them lately is...https://m.primal.net/HfqN.jpg
So strange, my main account has only ever been used behind a VPN and I’ve never had issues. Wonder what the trigger is for yours?
you're able to use Reddit behind a VPN? I always get blocked
Yup, never had any issues. Mostly IVPN.
Reddit never locks me out because of my VPN. I used to have that issue with my bank though & it was infuriating. I called them & was told to change my username & see if that worked. Wtf? I'd been with the bank for years before thevproblem started but I changed my username & problem solved. Weird 🤷♂️
lets build a reddit on nostr.
Stacker News is the closest with nostr integration.
Already exists, people just need to post more https://satellite.earth/
Google intergrated Reddit API in Gemini so yeah, reddit will boot vpn bc money nostr:note16m3klrdygtw7jwd72psve0ct64q3h83t270l4m08jwguc0qpuvhss5e8xk
Using a FireFox based privacy browser, with aggressive settings extension etc, plus a VPN: anything behind Cloudflare is purely inaccessible to me. I could probably list the number of sites I can access on one hand. Most of the web requires fingerprinting and Chromium based browser with all of the extra tracking features Mozilla staff refuse to implement. I lost access to more than a dozen accounts over the weekend due to 10-minute-mail email addresses as usernames. I refuse to give you access to send junk to my inbox. What bothers me even more (and they have legitimate reasons), is Brave came out with a statement a week or so ago that said were dropping support for extreme privacy settings in Brave because the large majority of the internet is just plain borked and it "singles you out". Us engineers are not free of blame from this incentive nightmare. It's time to end this! Stop building software that allows spying on your friends and family.
I haven't used Reddit for I dunno, 8 years? Never missed it. I disliked it almost as much as Steemit at its worst. Remember Steemit? LOL
nostr fixed this. nostr:note16m3klrdygtw7jwd72psve0ct64q3h83t270l4m08jwguc0qpuvhss5e8xk
Lemmy with Sync or Voyager is the best alternative available to Reddit. After IPO Reddit will be much worse.
Ya they block alot of vpns. So my ability to access reddit questions and answers has been handicapped for past year
