when I was away yesterday a few emails turned up, and 3 or 4 of them say something like

"need to arrange a wide ranging chat on the phone"

my policy is "well, just pick up the phone then"

you do not need to email me to agree a phone call

I come from the generation where the telephone was the most valuable asset in the office

call me, that's what businesses do

don't ask for permission to call me!

I'm the opposite: unless it is a crisis, I much prefer scheduled calls, and I don't tend to answer calls from numbers I don't recognise.
