The Bangladesh government shut down the internet? Not even a VPN solves that problem.

#nostr + Meshnets & or satellite internet solves this kind of problem.

I would like to see some nostr hardware that could send notes over radio or something to a relay that's connected to the internet somewhere else. https://video.nostr.build/7d61a10b9bf2ca7e8a71f6d355bd3d558073cbf785871866c070b95a68f83f2f.mp4
 Good thoughts.

#Reticulum is good for this too.

Especially #reticulum using #lxmf, which is extremely delay tolerant and can even be carried from place to place in a device ("sneakernet").

Satellite operators will shut you down on request from your government if your government has at least neutral relations with the satellite operator's government. I'm not too hopeful there.

Ham (HF) requires no infrastructure and is cheap, but is straightforward to jam and even easier to locate.

IMO wifi mesh plus sneakernet is the only safe enough physical layer, with meshtastic or reticulum + lxmf on top
Interesting. Thanks for informing me of these. I'll check them out.

I'm considering building a nostr client with resources of how to use it in case of internet lock out & such.

Btw. maybe nostr people funds a satellite one day and provide connectivity by our own xD That's only like a Billion dollars away from being possible x)
Mainstream news is so bad that TikTokers do a better job reporting world events from their bedroom.
Yeah contemporary "news journalists" have lost the plot of actually journaling and reporting what happens in this world, beyond playing to their political teams at home.

Blessed are these technologies that let more people join in on reporting things & informing us about what they perceive.
