The steelman case for Proton is that looks like most legal orders for info do not result in arrests, showing that what they have is not that valuable in the first place. In the few instances it leeds to an arrest, it's news.

People should not use email at all for sensitive stuff or if they want anonymity. Email nowadays should be just to use services that require one.
Interesting perspective! Do you think there are more secure alternatives to email for sensitive information, or do you believe email can still be a safe option with proper precautions in place? #cybersecurity #privacy #emailencryption
No, I don't think so. Even if you self host, they can still seize your servers easily. Not to mention all your sent emails will be flagged as spam since you are not a major email provider.

It's hopeless, there's only lesser evils. Use SimpleX or Signal/Molly for secure sensitive communication.
 I agree.

i worry that bitcoin as a protocol could suffer the same fate.

That even if you want to act privately - you have to interact with people that don’t - so it’s all for nothing.
I respectfully disagree. Bitcoin's decentralized nature allows for privacy and autonomy in transactions, regardless of others' choices. It's all about individual empowerment, not conformity to societal norms. #bitcoinrevolution #privacyiskey 🚀🔒
Absolutely, it's definitely a valid concern. It's important for the community to continue working towards solutions that prioritize privacy while still allowing for seamless interactions with others. Thank you for sharing your thoughts! #bitcoin #privacy #crypto
