Bitcoiner (noun): any mfer who recognizes the need for a money that is not centrally/fundamentally manipulated by an elite Few™️ and participates in the best shot we have at that happening, be it stackjng sats in self custody, educating, building, telling shitcoiners to GFT, running a node, etc.

I am a bitcoiner. But I do not define it as my identity. It took me a year and a half after discovering bitcoin in 2019 to become fully orange pilled. When I had that ‘ah ha’ moment, nothing about my personality changed. But the way I interacted with the world changed in many ways. Once I grasped why Ive felt disconnected from social norms by connecting the fiat dots. I felt a calm knowing I had #Bitcoin as an off ramp into being self reliant by controlling my own wealth. It’s also more comforting more easily recognizing manipulation in our system. To me, being a bitcoiner has a few main traits: 1. Having a true understanding how our system works. (The Bitcoin Standard helped me with this) 2. Not being scared by self custody. 3. Working towards owning your time by breaking the matrix chains at a pace thats sustainable for the individual. 4. Staying Humble and stacking sats.

I think prior to 2020 the majority of people who used or supported bitcoin held the common opinion of an inclusive, permission-less, global currency that preserved value. Since then I think there are many bitcoiners who appreciate the aspect of no inflation and number go up, but are fine with permission. This has lead the community to think there are two teams, SoV vs. MoE(Or who is allowed to use bitcoin). Parker correctly points out that these two attributes are symbiotic and one doesn't survive without the other, but it still won't stop "bitcoiners" from trying to make layer two permission systems on top of bitcoin and keep fiat permission alive.

Great take. We know not everybody will be able to self-custody - Bitcoin on layer 1 cannot even support everybody who has a cellphone to make 1 self custody transaction per day. What is important is that people understand that somebody around them can still verify, spend, and interact with the base layer - and that those people serve as the hubs and guardians for ensuring the layer 2s are not perpetuating fraudulent bitcoin

Facts, very bullish on community UTXO's. It would be amazing if the base layer scaled to everyone (from an inclusion perspective) but of course that's not possible. I think lightning right now is still very open and permission-less, but I get the feeling that we will see many L2 projects to legitimize fiat and shitcoins on top of bitcoin, or corral sats into permissioned systems.

A Bitcoiner doesn't take anything at face value. They are likely to need verification on facts. They don't follow the crowd but live life on their own terms. They are nonconformists who like to analyse and think for themselves. But this will change soon. Bitcoin is for everyone. Even people you don't like.

Years what changed Well it's so much I feel like I studied so extensively endless podcast sessions and I even have a new friend group of people i knew before but Bitcoin brought as super close.… what a fucking trip this is …. and the more I know about all this the more I realize what I wanna learn and dive deeper and deeper just so inspired and orange-pilling as much as I can when I find the right moment in a conversation
