In the movies when someone dislocates a shoulder someone either yanks on it or the injured slams their shoulder into something. What is the proper technique to relocate the arm back into the shoulder socket?

Similarly with fractured bone protruding from the skin, do you just push it back in place?

Working to improve my post-apocolypse field medic training.
 😁epic questions.

shoulder dislocations are typically reduced or put back with light sedation in the ED, and sometimes under full anesthetic

there are maneuvers that work depending on whether the shoulder came out to the front or back.

in the apocalypse Id have em lay down and attempt to elevate the arm while someone else holds counter traction.

do I have to say this isnt medical advice if we assume the applicable scenario is a zombie apocalypse?
 Thank you.

There will be no lawyers during the zombie apocalypse, you're good.
