Solar & wind are not depleted on use and nuclear energy is in reality not depleted if you get breeder reactors online. By the way the reason the US currently energy independent is that the us government created the shale oil boom. The government creates only obstacles, they didn’t develop fracking. Solar and wind are depleted on use, and require nearly as much energy inputs as they produce. Break even on solar panels is 8c/kWh over 20 years. That’s great if you want to be off grid, but I’m only paying 3c kWh in North Dakota.
