it finally dawned on me last week that the nasty rash i get on my hands, elbows, feet and knees since my early 20s was properly known as "Dermatitis Herpeteformis" - yes, it looks a bit like toad skin, pleasant, and exttremely itchy, though the itchiness thankfully comes and goes

guess what the main cause of this allergic reaction is? Some genetic fault in my intestinal mucosa, specifically the cilia, and the disease that causes this specific allergic reaction is Celiac Disease

now, i honestly had thought, since i'd had fairly variable effects from eating bread, and some odd reactions from eating too much at certain times (prison diet) that it was something else

nope...

and as such, the base layer of this tasty cheesy oniony thing which i dearly love to eat, especially the cheese and the butter and the onions, makes my life suck

it may well be that my genetic disorder is rare and perhaps something to do with my austro-indonesian genetic heritage, where i think the only carbs tehy had were a few tiny sour fruit and maybe they had tapioca, a starch found in some fern plant from the tropics

but there is a reason why so many are obsessing over said sliced up, barbecued and fried pieces of dead animals

in many cases, probably similar immune problems, in my case i also get a double bonus of lower than average tolerance to high blood sugar, which is in my late 40s now causing me to have such fun things as tinnitis, peripheral neuropathy, and generalised brain fog most of the time, and yeah, it's fun

just mainly wanted to update you that i finally found out what caused the rash and i was shocked

Dermatitis herpetiformis

Herpetiformis, see also herpetiform, describes grouped or clustered vesicles or papules, resembling herpes

(DH) is an inflammatory immunobullous disease of the skin and a cutaneous manifestation

of coeliac (celiac) disease, a gluten-sensitive enteropathy.

i now can't eat even very much stuff made of corn, tapioca, and certainly sugary things are dangerous, as well as this, but this one has been a plague for me since forever, and probably explains why my diet was potato chips and energy drinks for much of my 30s and early 40s

i don't even tolerate high fat intake very well, even if it's cacao butter or beef tallow

the dinner plate is a minefield for me, even worse than it used to be
